Herreshoff Boat Shops, Bristol, R.I.

Description

Notes: The Cottons clearly had several connections to Bristol and apparently Minnie was one of them. Ben Cotton Jr. was married and died in Bristol in 1880. Ben’s mother, Rebecca (Russell) Cotton - Ben Cotton Sr.'s first wife - died in Bristol the year before her son did. The implication seems to be that Minnie’s father-in-law lives there in Bristol. From the 1910 US census for Bristol: Andrew S. Rounds, 65; Sarah E. Rounds, 60 (wife); and Hiram A. Rounds, 29 (son) were all living on Hope St. At that time Andrew and Sarah had been married for 42 years. Late additions: From the 1920 Census – Minne is the wife of Hiram and they have two children.
