Title

Aug. 25, 1910 A

Subject

Central Falls, R.I. Jenks Park. Main Entrance and Resting Pavilion

Description

Notes: Apparently “the umbrella” is the “Resting Pavilion” of the title on the card. Notice Emma's helpful "x" on the face of the card. More than once Charles Nelson Cotton was listed as a painter in an earlier census. This is one of the few direct references to Charles Nelson Cotton, whom I think lived with Jennie throughout this period between 1906 and 1914. It is possible that Emma was writing separately to her father. This cast iron umbrella - as well as several others - are still standing in Jenks Park. Another one of these umbrellas in the park is partially visible in the black and white card dated May 17, 1910.
